Which Koran shall we debate?

There are many variants. Some scholars say 7, some say 10, some say as many as 14. Kind of hard to debate the authenticity and divinity of a sacred text when we have so many versions of the same holy book to consider.

look here dummy, as i have mentioned before, there is only one quran. yes people can have different interpretations about it, but thats about as far as it goes. the website you have mentioned where it contains hadith, indicating that there are versus missing. these hadtih are rejected as they are false and clearly contradicts allah words in the holy quran where allah has promised to guard the quran from corruption. i belong to the shia faith of islam. what you have qouted are from sunni books which we reject as 100% accurate.

Now, claiming that any variations of the holy texts of your faith are “unrecognized” or “rejected” by your particular brand of islam says nothing about their accuracy or authenticity. As you are so often reminding us, a person or group can “reject” and “not recognize” evolution as well, but it doesn’t make it untrue.

the question needs to be asked is, whether the texts you mention are “holy”. as i have said before, i belong to the shia fatih of islam and all the quoted mentioned are in hadtih books. these hadith books have been carefuly scrutinzed and there are many discrepencies found by our scholars in these books, therefore i reject them. not simply because i chose to, but because highy respected schoalrs (who are experts in this field) have informed us. of oucrse there are some authentic hadith in those books which the scholars have told us about.

however, the only unquestionable source for shia muslims is the holy quran. prove your case from there. secondly, i dont reject evolution theory for no reason, i reject it because i have been convinced that this idea is a myth for a number of reasons and fact. but thats for a different subject as i dont want to be seen derailing this thread.
